Hostas are a plant collector's dream come true! Each cultivar is unique with patterns and markings that make them wonderful to study in the garden. Avoid overwatering young hostas while they are establishing root systems. They need protection from mid-day sun and high nitrogen fertilizer in early spring. Clip away flower stalks once they are done blooming. 'First Frost' has thick blue leaves with creamy white edges. This hosta will look great until the first frost in autumn, hence the name. Lovely lavender flowers. This hosta was named the Hosta of the Year for 2010.
