The Van Bourgondien Family

Holland Nurseries in 1928

It all began nearly 200 years ago in Holland, where the Van Bourgondien family first started growing tulips - a small patch meant for the cut flower trade. We didn't even come to America until 1904, when Karel C. Van Bourgondien came over to sell his family crop of flower bulbs. He stayed and established a warehouse in Arlington, New Jersey - and never looked back.

Those bulbs grew - and so have we. Now there are seven generations of Van Bourgondiens here in the US, bringing you the best and most interesting bulbs and perennials that Holland has to offer. We may have 250 employees now - but we're still a family business.
